About the Pilot

Jonathan L. Oliver

Commercial Pilot - Airplane: Single-Engine Land, Multi-Engine Land, Instrument, Single-Engine Sea (Private)
Flight Instructor - Airplane: Single- and Multi-Engine, Instrument

I began flying in college after an internship with EAA between my freshman and sophomore year; I used the summer funds to pay for my private certificate and have not looked back. I have been fortunate to go on to earn commercial and flight instructor certificates since then.

My day job is as a Flight Test Engineer at Supernal, my dream job if I ever had one. My goal with JOLO Aero is to bring the same level of professionalism to general aviation that I see day-in and day-out.

About the Bird

N5650S, The Mouse

1966 Beechcraft A23-24
Musketeer Super III

The Beechcraft Musketeer is the predecessor of the line that eventually became the Sundowner and Sierra. A rugged design with trailing-link landing gear and better-than-average shoulder room, the Musketeer line, and the Super III specifically, built a reputation as an aircraft that could do as much or more than a Cessna, just a little bit slower. The 200HP Lycoming IO-360 is a familiar and simple engine for the aircraft, familiar to any modern Skyhawk pilot.

I purchased the Mouse in 2018 to serve as my first airplane. It has been a reliable family traveler and cross-country machine, and occasionally serves yeoman’s duty at JOLO Aero, offering introductory flights for aspiring pilots.
